THRESHOLD have parted ways with vocalist Damian Wilson. The band have chosen to start a new chapter without him and he has told them he respects their decision.

Wilson enjoyed three stints with THRESHOLD, performing on the band’s most recent records “For The Journey” and “March Of Progress” as well as their early releases “Wounded Land” and “Extinct Instinct” in the 1990’s. Damian Wilson has been a great frontman for THRESHOLD and the band would like to sincerely thank him and wish him every success in his future endeavours.

THRESHOLD‘s new frontman will be Glynn Morgan, the band’s former vocalist from 1994 to 1996. Morgan appeared on THRESHOLD‘s 1994 album “Psychedelicatessen” and returned to work with the band in 2008 to record tracks for the singles box set “Paradox”.

Glynn Morgan commented:
“I was over the moon when I got the phone call. To work with Karl and Richard and be a part of the mighty THRESHOLD story once more is a great honour. I can’t wait to start recording, the new material has me hooked already.”

British progressive protagonists THRESHOLD recently announced their 11th masterpiece “Legends Of The Shires”, scheduled to be released in autumn 2017, which is being produced by Karl Groom and Richard West. Furthermore, they have also announced the dates for the “Legends Of The Shires” – Tour 2017 where you’ll be able to fully experience songs from the new album on stage.

Today, the band reveals the support acts for this tour: Get ready for DAMNATION ANGELS and DAY SIX!

Richard West comments: “We’ve got two excellent bands joining us for the tour. We met DAY SIX when they supported us for a few shows back in 2011 and we’re very happy to have them back for a whole tour. DAMNATION ANGELS were a crowd favourite when they opened for us last year, so it’s great to have them back as main support for 2017.”

British symphonic metal act DAMNATION ANGELS was formed in 2006 and their most recent record “The Valiant Fire” (2014) marked their second studio album.

They comment: “We’re excited and ready for round two with our good friends THRESHOLD! The last tour was incredible, the fans were amazing and we can’t wait to return. This time playing a longer, more diverse set of our brand of symphonic metal. Let’s be ‘avin it!”

Dutch progressive rock band DAY SIX released their album “The Grand Design” in 2010 and is ready to properly present a new album on this upcoming tour.

The band states: “This is one of those rare moments in live where things just fit seamlessly: while we are scheduling studio recordings for our new album, THRESHOLD was looking for an opening act for their European tour. When? Exactly when we planned to have the new DAY SIX record finished! We are more than happy to go on tour with THRESHOLD and to be opening the shows for these wonderful guys and amazing musicians!”

Pete Morten has decided to step down from Threshold to focus on his own band. Pete first provided cover for former guitarist Nick Midson in 2007 and ended up working with the band for ten years, appearing on two studio albums and performing shows in 22 countries.

Pete has been much loved by both the band and fans alike and we’ll look back on this past chapter with good memories. We would like to sincerely thank him for being part of our journey and wish him success with his future endeavours.

Threshold are currently working on their new concept album “Legends Of The Shires” and are not looking to replace him at the moment. The band will be back on tour in November.

Threshold are currently recording their 11th album at Thin Ice Studios in England, a new concept album that will be called LEGENDS OF THE SHIRES. It’s being produced by Karl Groom and Richard West and is scheduled to be released in 2017. More information will be revealed soon.

The band has also announced dates for the Legends Of The Shires Tour 2017 where you’ll be able to fully experience songs from the new album on stage.

Richard West comments: “It’s great to be announcing these tour dates so soon, we can’t wait to get on the road and perform for you. Our new album is coming together perfectly, we’ve got a lot of strong material so it might be our longest one yet.”

British progressive protagonists Threshold have signed a new contract with Nuclear Blast and extended their partnership after 10 successful years with the label.

Guitarist Karl Groom states: “We’re very happy to continue with Nuclear Blast and couldn’t imagine a better fit for Threshold.”

Keyboard player Richard West adds: “Nuclear Blast have given us everything we could want from a label and we’re really looking forward to releasing our new album with them.”

“2017 will be the year of Prog!”, adds Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger. “We are very happy to continue our work with Threshold and bring a massive release to you next year!”

Over the last 10 years with the Label, Threshold have released three studio albums, a double live album and reissues of the whole back catalogue. Currently, the band is working on their 11th masterpiece, a new concept album that is scheduled to be released in 2017.

Threshold are back on stage next week for two huge Summer festivals.

The band will perform at Masters Of Rock in Vizovice, Czech Republic on Thursday 14 July, followed by Bang Your Head in Balingen, Germany on Saturday 16 July.

Threshold have just returned from tour where they performed their latest studio album ‘For The Journey’ in its entirety along with a selection of classics and old favourites.

Thank you so much to Spheric Universe Experience, Damnation Angels, David, Toby, Chris, Peer, Laudi and all our amazing fans for such a wonderful tour.

Threshold will be back for Artrock Festival in Germany on 2 April.
